The first fruits of directing duo Natasha Merkulova and Aleksei Chupov, Intimate Parts is an exploration of middle class secrets and attitudes to sex. Through a series of interlinking plot lines, all revolving around the central figure of Ivan, a photographer with a passion for freedom, this film confronts our fear of being who we really are.

Natasha Merkulova and Aleksei Chupov, Directors
Natasha Merkulova graduated from the Higher Courses for Screenwriters and Directors in 2010, and won the Special Jury Prize at Kinoshok festival for her documentary Traumatism (2008). Intimate Parts is her feature film debut. Alexei Chupov is a well known screenwriter and is recognised as the creator of the first Russian internet sitcoms. Intimate Parts is the first film they have created together. A symbiotic relationship, Chupov was initially responsible for writing the script and Merkulova for directing, though they both ended up straying into the other's territory.
